Beecroft Rotary Club has a had the privilege of being involved in hosting 43 exchange students from overseas and also sponsoring 43 Australian exchange students to travel overseas.

Rotary's Youth Exchange is one of the most popular programs to promote international understanding and develop lifelong friendships. The values of Rotary Youth Exchange are experienced not only by the high-school-age students involved but also by the host families, sponsoring clubs, receiving high schools, and the entire community. Youth Exchange participants usually provide their fellow students in their host schools with excellent opportunities to learn about customs, languages, traditions, and family life in another country. This is an official program of Rotary International, 8,000 students exchange annually to around 60 different countries.

As a Rotary Exchange student, you will spend one year living in another country, usually with three or four host families. You will become part of those families and their community. In your host country you will learn another language, experience different foods, study different subjects and enjoy a new culture. You will learn a great deal about yourself, gain confidence and self-sufficiency, and experience adventures that will take a lifetime to recount!

Here is just a brief view of some of the wonderful services Rotary can provide.

ROTARY YOUTH SERVICE PROJECTS take many forms around the world.  Rotarians sponsor athletic teams, centres for disabled children, school safety patrols, summer camps, orphanages, recreation areas, safe driving clinics, county fairs, child-care centres, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and children's hospitals.  Many clubs provide vocational counselling, establish youth employment programs
