The Bill Grant Memorial Award has been developed in memory of the Rotary Club of Beecroft’s past-President (1992-1993), Dr William (Bill) Grant, for recognition of his exemplary service to education. As part of the youth service portfolio, the annual Award recognises a local student that is developing attributes and dedication in pursuit of a career in education and acknowledges their enthusiasm and energy as a positive catalyst for change amongst their peers.
The Bill Grant Memorial Award consists of the BGM trophy and a $1000 education grant.
The BGM Award forms part of the Rotary Club of Beecroft Youth Service portfolio. We are pleased to offer a range of enrichment, leadership and social innovation programs as part of our aim to develop the next generation of humanitarian leaders.
After graduating from Teachers College, Bill advanced through the teaching ranks at several regional schools located in Wagga Wagga, Urana, Batlow and Cessnock, before his dedication led him to a position of School Inspector for NSW. He completed a post graduate qualification in Education Administration at the University of New England which subsequently led him to a PhD and residency at the University of Florida, a top-ranked research university noted for its excellence in education studies.
