youth interact

Interact Clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary Clubs which provide support and guidance to the Interact members as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills. Club membership varies greatly. Clubs can be single gender or mixed, large or small.

These service clubs are usually based in high schools but they are self-governing and self-supporting thus encouraging the development of leadership skills which give students opportunities to develop initiative, teamwork skills, a community service ethic and international understanding to enable participation in fun and meaningful service projects.

Clubs meet at least twice a month and organize two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Interact clubs can meet in person, online, or a combination of both — making Interact a flexible option.

Rotary is involved and sponsors some great YOUTH SERVICE PROGRAMS throughout the year. Our objective within Youth Service is to prepare our youth - all young people up to the age of 30 - for a world of challenges and opportunities.  By improving their life skills, we hope to help them achieve a better future, while recognising the diversity of their individual needs. Here is just a brief view of some of the wonderful services Rotary can provide.

ROTARY YOUTH SERVICE PROJECTS take many forms around the world.  Rotarians sponsor athletic teams, centres for disabled children, school safety patrols, summer camps, orphanages, recreation areas, safe driving clinics, county fairs, child-care centres, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and children's hospitals.  Many clubs provide vocational counselling, establish youth employment programs
