Our club has launched a program called Virtual Neighbours - a new service to provide connectedness and assurance through regular phone or web calls to the elderly. We aim to reignite that 'local community feeling' of being valued and included in a time of social distancing & isolation.

We say to our community, especially the elderly – you are not alone! You can always speak to your friendly, trusted & caring Rotary Virtual Neighbour.

Our volunteer Virtual Visitors are recruited carefully taking into consideration their ability and willingness to commit to this important initiative. Our project team matches recipients and volunteers considering common interests where possible, and time availability. We enable the volunteers with the support required to provide this service

And we say to you - please help us with our outreach. If you would like to know more, do contact us on 0478 110 943 or via Facebook Messenger.

If you know someone who could benefit from this service, please speak with them or their carers in the first instance and encourage them to contact us. This way, we can always keep privacy, safety and confidentiality topmost in mind.

The Bill Grant Memorial Award has been developed in memory of the Rotary Club of Beecroft’s past-President (1992-1993), Dr William (Bill) Grant, for recognition of his exemplary service to education.  As part of the youth service portfolio, the annual Award recognises a local student that is developing attributes and dedication in pursuit of a career in education and acknowledges their enthusiasm and energy as a positive catalyst for change amongst their peers.

We finally found the opportunity to award our PHF’s for the Rotary year 2019-2020. These awards are usually presented at the clubs ChangeOverDinner in June or 1st week in July, but due to Covid19 we had to wait till November!
Rotarians associate the naming of a Paul Harris fellow as a tribute to a Rotarian who has demonstrated a shared purpose with the educational and humanitarian objectives of the Rotary Foundation. The recognition is named after Rotary’s Founder, the late Paul Harris, a Chicago Lawyer who started with three business associates in 1905.
A world of goodwill and better understanding comes closer to reality today because the Rotary Club of Beecroft has made a gift to the Rotary Foundation so that 3 of our members can be named as a Paul Harris Fellow.
In being presented with a Paul Harris Fellow recognition they join a remarkable company of people throughout the world, all recognised for their commitment to the “Service Above Self” to benefit local and international communities.
Our three members are Bob Catheral and
Greg Keighran
and
Melanie Lewis
. We congratulate them and thank them for their commitment to Rotary’s common goals of world understanding and peace.
This year, due to pandemic restrictions, we have had to cancel the book fair for year 2020.

Dear Johanna and the Rotary Club of Beecroft

As we all celebrate National Volunteer Week mostly from our home offices, Taldumande Youth Services would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers who have helped us support over 600 vulnerable children and young people in our care from all across Sydney, over the past year.

Whether you’ve participated in a corporate backyard blitz, done regular gardening at any of our properties, designed our annual report, raised funds to help us maintain our properties and support our programs, volunteered at a fundraising event or at the young people’s Christmas party, organised donations for our young people or helped us at head office in research or administrative roles, each and everyone of you are so important to us.

Without our volunteers, the success of the provision of our services would be so much harder to achieve. You truly are Changing Communities and Changing Lives and again this year we thank you for generously performing roles that would be extremely costly to our not-for-profit organisation.

We wish to thank our local community, without our dedicated locals, these projects would not be made possible for the Rotary Club of Beecroft to get involved with!

Great news is Beecroft Rotary have just received approval to build 9 check dams in Villages in Maharashtra, India to aid the villages in harvesting the rainwater.....watch this space for more news!
